This is just awesome: Day-Date Donnerstag at VRF. An exceedingly wicked list of Day-Dates all in one post. Two words, eight letters: MUST READ!
Okay my friends, this is it: I will now stop sticking to vintage DD’s. Henrik’s latest offering made me change my mind – life doesn’t stop after Single Quick. This particular Day-Date is such a prime example of what sparked my interest – the great diversity.
Spotted: Rolex Day-Date 18238 Malachite. Stunning and 100% unique. F*ck patina, tropical et cetera – this dial was unique the day it was born!
Stunning example Henrik, my compliments.

Spotted: Rolex Day-Date 18238 Onyx
Going out on a limb here – ddrlx is meant to feature references no later than the 18000- and 19000-series. But this is such a great look! Dark, mysterious, unusual. The absence of markers on the deep black background give way to the idea that time is floating.. It doesn’t stop on set occasions – it just keeps on going….

Mind-boggling lot sold by Antiquorum in 2007. Although the lot fetched a respectable 1,743,000 HKD, one might wonder wether the set wasn’t sold a few years too early, given the current spike in interest in the Rolex Day-Date. Click the link above for a full description of the lot.
